SAFE DRIVING IN THE FOG AND MIST

Driving in fog and mist requires special caution. It is believed that this environmental road hazard is one of the most dangerous. It is challenging to drive in heavily congested traffic, but you should be even more vigilant when sharing the road in foggy conditions as visibility can seriously deteriorate within a matter of seconds.

NIGHT DRIVING AND ROAD SAFETY

Road authorities agree that night driving presents unique challenges, increased risks and numerous deaths and injuries. It is estimated by the National Safety Council in the U.S. that traffic death rates are three times greater at night than during the day.

DEFENSIVE DRIVING

The biggest cause of road crashes in South Africa is driver error. It is generally accepted that 85-90% of road crashes can be attributed to driver error. This includes not only the honest mistake or error in judgement, but also driver recklessness, driver inattention and many other factors.
